Which Kratom strains should I use for my tea
The first thing you need to do is to choose which strains you’re going to use.
We recommend using our White and Green Borneo strains for breakfast and during the day
Why ? It is because Green and White kratom are the best to energize you and put you into a motivated yet relaxed mood. You’ll find yourself getting more stuff done!
On the other hand, if you’re suffering from a chronic illness resulting in pain, or if you have difficulties to sleep, we recommend you to use our Red Kratom. It has more sedative and relaxing effects compared with the 2 other strains. Its pain-relief properties are also more important.
What’s the best temperature to boil my kratom tea ?
Kratom is very stable at high temperatures. It means it will keep its potency and benefits even if you’re boiling it.
What we are doing is simply waiting until it’s boiling for 10-20 seconds, and then reducing the temperature until a simmer.
Which ingredients can I add to my Kratom tea ?
The tea itself is a bit bitter to start with. Some people love its natural bitter taste, but most don’t. There are several ways to cover the bitterness of Kratom.
Lemon and Lime
We love to add 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice when we’re boiling kratom. It helps with the taste and also with extracting alkaloids. The citric acid that is contained in both is a well-known potentiator of kratom which enhance its effects.
Honey and Stevia
The best method to change that bitter taste is to add a sweetener. We personally prefer natural ones, such as raw organic honey or stevia!
What?! Are you really adding coconut oil to your kratom tea?
Yes we do! But why?
The active compounds in kratom, the alkaloids, are fat-soluble, so there is an excellent benefit in consuming a lipid source at the same time you’re consuming kratom. So we are adding a teaspoon of virgin coconut oil to our tea. It does change the taste a little bit, but not too much.
INSTRUCTIONS (for 1 kratom tea)
- Pour 500ml of water into a pan.
- While the water is slowing heating up, add your favorite dose of kratom (3-6 grams)
- Squeeze in the juice of a lemon or add bottled lemon juice (1 tsp).
- TIPS: You can also add fresh ginger cuts at this point!
- Stir it all up until the tea is boiling, then reduce the temperature and allow the water to continue to simmer for 10 more minutes.
- In the meantime, prepare a cup with honey or stevia and a tablespoon of coconut oil.
- Place a strainer or coffee filter on top of your cup. You’re reading to pour your tea in your cup !
- Slowly pour the kratom tea. The strainer or filter will collect all the residual powder.
As you can see, making kratom tea is quite easy. It is an ideal solution for healing body pains or give you a boost, depending on your needs! It is an excellent remedy that can also help you with intestinal problems, abdominal cramps, bloating or constipation.
If you prefer iced tea, you can simply let the above recipe cool down and add ice cubes or put it in the freezer for about an hour!
